One of my new writers, Marcie Barlow, sent in her first ever column tonight. I read it, and I think you'll like it too...as well as the rest of her future editions. Great job.
Welcome aboard Marcie! Check it out on her new column page. One more day to join up. The ones of you who DID get back to me only have a few weeks to send in something...even an intro will do. If not, your page offer expires (Not on my part either)

P.O. Box 7 Mt Vernon, Ohio official press release - for immediate release AMRA president Bill Hayes recently confirmed that Wayne County Speedway, located near Orrville, Ohio, will sanction their newly formed open wheel modified division under the AMRA banner. In addition, Wayne County promoters John & Ilene Hess, and new business partner Ernie Coffman, have inked 2 Road Warrior Tour dates (June 5th and July 31st) for the popular Central Ohio track. The Hess's indicated that weekly events at the Saturday night operation will pay $500 to win, with $100 being the starting money. AMRA president Hayes added "We have fielded several inquiries about sanctioning from the Western Pa.-Northern Oh. area, and hope that the area racers support Wayne County Speedway in 2004. From our 2003 Road Warrior Tour event, we can attest to the quality of the facility, and look forward to working with the staff, management and AMRA racers at Wayne County Speedway". Central Pa Speedway is very excited and proud to announce it’s association with DIRT Motorsports.
Management of the famed, newly clayed facility has been talking with the great folk’s at DIRT about the future of modified racing in their area. Both organizations feel they can, together significantly help grow, build and advance one of the areas fan favorite divisions. Kenny Mclaughlin/general mgr. of Central Pa Speedway, is committed to growing and building all of the respective divisions at CPS, and feels that with the new relationship with DIRT gives them a distinct advantage in achieving that goal in the modified division. The rules at CPS are a little more open than what the normal DIRT sanctions allow, but the long term goal is to move more towards those sanctioning rules, that in turn will afford more cars in the area to come to CPS with the ability to run competitively. CPS in it’s effort to start that movement, in conjunction with officials at DIRT Motorsports, will be amending their rules for the 2004 season by not allowing the more “exotic” motors. The 18-degree headed Chevy motors and the SB2 Chevy headed motors will not be legal at CPS in 2004, the Ford and Mopar equivalents will also not be legal. The existing steel and alum, 23 degree headed steel block motors will be the norm, with a wgt. break for the steel headed motors over the alum. For more info on this and any other rules, you can access them at the track web site at www.centralpaspeedway.com
I hope to get the bulk of work done on my new site this weekend. If I don't hear from you guys who haven't written back yet, there will be no column for you on it

I finally sent in my first RPW column...I'll let you know when it's up. After this one, I'll post them all here as well.
Check out RPW.
Been a slow week as far as anything worth posting here. Can't wait til there's something to actually talk about.
The limited sprints at Sharon is an interesting idea. Wonder how that will work out. Hope it gets some fresh blood into the sprint car ranks for the future. Those of you who haven't gotten back to me about your columns only have til next weekend to do so...or I'll assume you're no longer interested |
